How to Set Up reCaptcha

If you want to incorporate a reCAPTCHA challenge along with your other Janrain functionality, follow these steps.

  1. Inform Janrain and tell them on which pages you would like the challenge added.
  2. Add fields to your form(s) as directed by Janrain. For example:
    {* #registrationForm *}
      {* traditionalRegistration_firstName *}
      {* traditionalRegistration_lastName *}
      {* traditionalRegistration_emailAddress *}
      {* traditionalRegistration_password *}
      {* traditionalRegistration_passwordConfirm *}
      {* traditionalRegistration_displayName *}
      {* traditionalRegistration_postalCode *}
      {* captcha *}
      By clicking "Create Account", you confirm that you accept our <a href="#">terms of service</a> and <a href="#">privacy policy</a>.
      <div class="capture_footer">
        <div class="capture_left">
          {* backButton *}
        </div>
        <div class="capture_right">
          {* createAccountButton *}
        </div>
      </div>
    {* /registrationForm *}

  3. Set the reCAPTCHA version by adding the janrain.settings.capture.recaptchaVersion JavaScript setting to the <head> section of the web page that implements the reCAPTCHA challenge. For example:
    janrain.settings.capture.recaptchaVersion = 2

The setting value 1 implements reCAPTCHA version 1.

The setting value 2 implements the new reCAPTCHA version 2. You can find more information on the new reCAPTCHA version here.

If the setting is not explicitly set, version 1 is implemented.
