FICAM Support

Janarain Engage supports the FICAM initiative as set forth by the Federal Government. The Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management program was developed to streamline identity and access management procedures across government websites.

Janrain Engage currently supports FICAM LOA 1 Certified Identity Providers. By flagging an Application as “FICAM Certified Providers Only” in the Dashboard, only supported Identity Providers will appear as sign-in options. When you configure these Identity Providers, Engage uses a Provider Authentication Policy Extension (PAPE) Request during sign-in to make sure all authentication policies are met.

Also, by selecting FICAM, the profile information returned will conform to the FICAM spec. Only the Provider Name and Identifier will be returned.

Enabling FICAM ¶

Contact your Janrain representative about enabling FICAM on your application. They will prepare your application on the back end.

Once Janrain has configured the back end for you, sign-in to your application, and click Settings. A new FICAM Certified Providers Only option appears. Click the checkbox and click Save.
